Terms of Use

Brain Quest is an independent, student-built study platform for Tanzanian secondary students (Forms 1–6): practice questions, an AI tutor, and progress tracking aligned to the NECTA curriculum. It is a small project run by its maintainer, not a registered company — it's provided “as is”, and these terms are the agreement between you and the maintainer of Brain Quest (“we”, “us”). You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should consent to you using Brain Quest. Keep your account to yourself: you're responsible for what happens under your sign-in.

• The free tier currently includes 30 marathon questions and 5 AI tutor chats per day, with full access to your history, streaks, and achievements. We may adjust free-tier limits as costs change — the current limits are always shown on the pricing section.
• Pro removes the caps for a fixed period (for example 30 or 365 days). Payments are processed by Pesapal via Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money, or card.
• No auto-renew. Pro simply expires at the end of the period; we'll remind you to renew. There are no recurring or surprise charges.
• Refunds. Payments are final once Pro access is activated. If Brain Quest is broken or unavailable for an extended period during your subscription, we'll extend your access to cover the downtime — email us.

Questions, explanations, notes, and tutor replies on Brain Quest are largely generated by AI. We work to keep them accurate and NECTA-aligned, but AI content can be wrong — occasionally a question may have an incorrect marked answer or a misleading explanation. If something looks wrong, use the Report button and we'll review it.

Brain Quest is a study aid, not a replacement for your teachers, school, or official NECTA materials — and no tool can guarantee exam results.

Donations support free access for students who can't pay. They are voluntary, non-refundable, and not tax-deductible (we are not a registered charity). Donors may appear on the donor wall unless they choose to stay anonymous.

You agree not to:

• scrape, copy, or redistribute the question bank or generated content at scale;
• abuse the AI tutor (attempts to misuse it for anything other than learning, or to overwhelm the service);
• interfere with the service — probing, breaking rate limits, creating fake accounts, or manipulating XP and leaderboards;
• use Brain Quest for anything unlawful.

We may suspend or delete accounts that break these rules. Real talk: this project exists to help students, and abuse directly takes the service away from them.

You own what you write (chat messages, notes requests). You give us permission to process and store it to provide the service — including sending chat messages to our AI provider to generate replies, as described in the Privacy Policy. The Brain Quest name, design, and software remain ours.

To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of Tanzania, Brain Quest is provided without warranties of any kind, and our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

You can stop using Brain Quest at any time, and can have your account and data deleted by emailing us (see the Privacy Policy). We may terminate accounts that violate these terms; if we ever discontinue the service, we'll give reasonable notice.

We may update these terms as the project evolves; material changes will be announced in the app and the effective date above updated. Continuing to use Brain Quest after a change means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
